2 Bridges
4 Ethernet transceivers
4 10baseT cables

3. Discussion:

4. Procedure:

a.    Connect one bridge between the two LANs. Note, you will need to use ethernet transceivers to connect to the AUI connectors.

b.    Using Microsoft VISIO(available in library), draw a network diagram. Include in the lab report.

c.    Turn a workstation on at each LAN. Run the appropriate ipconfig utility to determine the IP address.

d.    Ping the other workstation to see if you are connected.

e.    After establishing contact, run "arp -a" and write down what you see.

f.    Run "netstat -r" and discuss this utility.

g.    Run "tracert" and discuss this utlity.

h.    Continue to run arp -a every minute for at least 10 minutes. What happens? Why?

j.    How can you tell which bridge is "active"? Disconnent this bridge and discuss what happens?

k.    Research the CentreCom Bridge in lab.

l.    The CentreCOM 6875 supports SNMP management. What is SNMP? I want more than just what the acronym stands for. What exactly can you do with it? Give some sample commands.
