Course Description
A survey of modern management and supervision concepts, theory and practice. The roles of the manager, history and development of management theory, and the functional aspects of management are stressed. A particular focus of the course is the relationship between manager and employee. In addition to the text, students will learn about current management practice by reading primary texts in the field, newspapers, journals and magazines, and preparing in-class reports. The class is structured as a seminar course with emphasis on class discussion and collaborative learning.
Prerequisite: EN-102.
