Introduction to Sociology

Course Description

A survey of the basic concepts and principles of sociology; culture, human nature, personality and the self, socialization, society, group behavior, norms and deviance, and institutions. The topic of social problems will be addressed by an in-depth examination of a contemporary issue. A primary text and newspapers, magazines and journals will be used in addition to the textbook. 

 

Prerequisite: EN-101.
