Most of my career has been spent as a programmer and development manager on mainframes, mid-range computers, PCs and the Web. Before joining Capitol College in 1999, I also spent 15 years as an editor, writer, and columnist in the computer trade press, including several years as Technology Director of CMP Media’s InformationWeek magazine. I am honored to have received the Esteemed Professor Award for years 2003 and 2004 from the Capitol College students in the Alpha Chi National Honor Society. Professor Franceschi and I are co-authors of Java 5 Illuminated, a textbook for introductory Computer Science courses published in 2005 by Jones and Bartlett Publishers. Education: M.S.
